ASTA Summer Orchestra Camp- one of the longest running summer orchestra camps in the state! Thanks to two different sessions this camp can be perfect for younger "first time campers" (May 28-31) all the way through current 9th graders (June 1-4). Held in Hampton, GA.

UGA Summer Music Institute- June 1-5 held in Athens, GA. Great opportunity for your more advanced/older students.

Upbeat String Camp- July 7-10, middle school through high school, held at Dickerson MS. Also includes the Upbeat Academy for higher level and leadership opportunities.

VIVO Summer String Institute- The ASO is hosting a four day string camp July 13-17. 5th-12th grade.

Atlanta Festival Academy- Summer music institute in Johns Creek, June 21-August 2. Ages 10-23, geared towards more advanced students.

GSU Summer Music Institute- June 16-20, geared towards middle and high school students with 2+ years of experience.

Atlanta Music Project- Two sessions with one geared towards intermediate/advanced large ensembles (June 2-20) and one towards elementary ensembles (June 23-27).

Franklin Pond Summer Intensive- A chamber music focused summer program with biweekly coaching and weekly masterclasses.

MYSO Free Summer Workshop- a great FREE opportunity for intermediate to advanced students to check-out the MYSO orchestra and work with some fantastic educators

Youth Orchestras
Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra (ASYO) The typical Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra season runs August - May. Rehearsals occur once a week, typically on Saturday mornings, with some exceptions. The Youth Orchestra performs three classical concerts each season. All rehearsals and performances are in Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center unless otherwise noted. Auditions for the 2042-25 Season have closed. Auditions typically take place mid-May.
Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra (EYSO) - Rehearsals for the 2024-2025 season will be held at Emory University on Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9:30 pm during our regular season, August through early May. The Youth Orchestra performs three concerts each season. Auditions are August 17 - 18, 2024. Audition information for 2024-25 can be found here.
Alpharetta Symphony Youth Orchestra - Rehearsals and concerts will generally be held on Sundays from 5:00-7:00PM. All rehearsals take place at Preston Ridge Community Center. Auditions are Sunday, August 4th, from 2:00pm-7:00pm at Preston Ridge Community Center. Priority seating will be given to those auditioning on the formal audition dates. However, a private audition can be scheduled at any time throughout the season. In addition there will be January auditions for the spring semester.
